Are you part-qualified or qualified Chartered Accountant looking to apply your financial expertise in a commercial, relationship-focused role?

The Development Bank of Wales is looking for an ambitious individuals to join our New Investments team as either an Investment Executive or Assistant Investment Executives. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong accountancy, corporate finance, banking or financial analysis background to develop a career in business finance and investment.

Working alongside experienced Senior Investment Executives and Fund Managers, you'll help assess funding applications, analyse financial information, support due diligence activities and play a key role in helping Welsh businesses access the finance they need to grow.

This role offers a structured development pathway, with the opportunity to progress into a full Investment Executive or Senior Investment Executive positions.

What you'll be doing

  • Building relationships with businesses, professional advisers and introducers across Wales.
  • Assessing funding applications and reviewing company financial information.
  • Preparing credit and sanction reports to support lending and investment decisions.
  • Conducting financial analysis, cashflow assessment and due diligence.
  • Supporting the appraisal and completion of investment transactions.
  • Working closely with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and achieve team targets.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the Welsh business landscape and the Development Bank's products.

We're particularly interested in individuals with a strong accountancy background who are looking to apply their technical skills in a more commercial and customer-facing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA or CIMA qualification (or be working towards one).
  • Experience analysing financial statements, management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make balanced commercial judgements.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach and desire to develop a career in business finance and investment.
